Danielle Pendergrast, Team Coach

Danielle started coaching in June, 1993 at Anchorage Gymnastics Association. In the Fall of 1994, she began coaching recreational classes for Arctic. Within the first year, she started assisting the pre competitive program. Danielle worked at Arctic through her High School years and during her senior year, she also competed for West High. After graduation from West, Danielle moved on to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she competed as a Division III athlete in swimming and participated in the music program. She graduated with a BA in Psychology and Education in 2000. During her college education, Danielle also worked at Somersaults Gymnastics Center in Cedar Rapids. She coached tots through advanced level classes. Danielle started the first ever competitive program at Somersaults starting with a level 4 team. She developed and ran the competitive team program for eight gymnasts. At the end of the first season, her team went on to win the club's first trophy by taking sixth place at the State Championships. The competitive team now consists of levels 4 and 5/6. Danielle moved back to Alaska in the summer of 2002 to begin her coaching career here at Arctic. Coach Danielle has finished her first full year at Arctic. During her first year, her teams won level 4 state team title, level 5 state team title, and level 6 team made a strong second place finish. There were many state individual and all around titles at the state meet.

Thanks to Coach Danielle's hard work and dedication, she helped motivate our athletes to work hard enough to succeed
