Melinda grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she began gymnastics at the age of 5. She competed for the University of Alaska, Anchorage, from 1999 to 2003 and qualified to USAG Collegiate Nationals three times. Melinda has coached gymnastics in the Anchroage area for the four years and has worked with all levels of competitive gymnastics. Her coaching accomplishments include Level 4 State Championship Titles and producing qualifiers in the northwest.
